What is it? Aurora showed bright light in the sky that happen when the solar wind hits Earth’s magnetic field causes the release of energy which we see as colored light.
They occur more often when the sun is very active, especially at the peak of 11-year sunspot cycle.
Where to see them? The closer you get to the pole the more likely you see them, but with more land near the North Pole, Norway, Alaska and Northern Canada is-hot spot.
Many tour operators, such as aurora-spotting AuroaBorealisyukon offer packages, but we encourage you to go between 2010 and 2012 when solar activity is expected to be very high.
