Grand Canyon National Park offers incredible scenery and amazing history to those who visit the outside. Recognized as one of the seven Natural Wonders of the World, the Grand Canyon does not disappoint you in a panorama of unparalleled elsewhere in the world.
Canyon achieved Federal protection in 1893, when it referred to as Reserve Forest, and again later as a national monument, but not until 1919 did a national park. Today Canyon Park to take in more than 5 million tourists every year. When I started as a national park in 1919, the number was around 45,000.

They present the life history of the North American continent and spectacular both in what they are capable we are historically and scenically.

Around five million people travel to the canyon each year, and most will see the canyon from the south bank, came to the scene and very little more. But there is more to see and do in Grand Canyon, including the Grand Canyon Village, hermit Rest Road and Desert View Drive. South Rim, 60 miles north of Williams and 80 miles north of Flagstaff, Arizona, is the most easily accessible from the park and is open all year round.

A number of much smaller people will see the canyon from the north side, which is only 10 miles directly across from the South Rim. The North Rim rises 1000 feet higher than the South Rim and is much less accessible. Heavy snow closed the rim from October to May every year.

Inner Canyon includes everything below the rim and is seen mainly by die hard hikers, mule riders and river rafters. Many opportunities here for those adventurers who live to backpack, ride a donkey to the famous Phantom Ranch, or take a river rafting trip.

Bright Angel trailhead
Starting near Kolb Studio, this trailhead is the starting point for perhaps the most famous of all the paths down to the bottom of the canyon. Originally Bighorn sheep path which is then used by the Havasupai Indians, was widened in the late 19th century, and down 5510 feet into the Colorado River. If you plan to traverse the path for a long time, you should have the right equipment and notify the representatives of the park visitor center.
Desert View and the Watchtower
From the top of the tower 70 feet of stone-and-mortar, you can see even the Painted Desert far to the east and 3,000 feet Vermilion Cliffs rise from the plateau near the Utah border. Colorado River is also seen in almost 360 degree panorama.
El Tovar Hotel
Built in 1905, the log structure still retain almost all the early days. If the weather is cold, stone fireplace will help to warm you. The lobby, pleasant countryside is a treasure chest of taxidermy. Rear patio provides a wonderful perspective to see the canyon.
Grand Canyon Railway
In 1989 the Grand Canyon Railway re-opened service along the route that was established in 1901. The trip, which lasted more than 60 miles in the car is returned from the Williams Depot to the South Rim to take the train through the pasture, livestock and national park land to the train station log-cabin at Grand Canyon Village.

Grand Canyon National Park is the sole national parks in that because of the desert that has grown into a small town itself, defend itself with the hotels, gift shops, post offices and various other services available to you when you visit the canyon .
Hiking opportunities range from a leisurely stroll on the road is very difficult to well define who will take several days to reach the other side. Park rangers or visitors-center personnel will be happy to provide information about the route. While there this summer, the park rangers who have a lot of evidence and is ready to answer any questions we may have about the geology, travel or where to access a particular path. You need to plan to spend two to three days if you want to increase the canyon from the rim to the rim.
There are some very good accommodation for pedestrians along the road which include camping at Indian Garden and Bright Angel, or Phantom Ranch. The nine miles of steep Hermit Trail begins at the hermit Rest is recommended for long-distance hikers only experienced.
For most years, there is no water available along the road, ask the park rangers about the availability of water in Santa Maria Springs and Hermit Creek. The route leading to the Colorado River and has views of inspiration Hermit Gorge and Redwall and Supai formations.
