The shopping capital of the Middle-East…
Sunshine, shopping, seaside, sports and safety are what Dubai is known for. The shopping capital of the Middle East, as it is known, has enormous hotels, mind boggling big malls and similar sizes of construction sites. The surrounding Arabian Desert and the city’s architecture and monuments are awesome. Dubai offers great dining and trendy nightclubs are plentiful, whether you want to socialize Asian, American or European-style.
Old-world souks and modern shopping malls, rolling sand dunes and championship grass golf courses, remote Bedouin villages and an array of five-star hotels, Dubai has it all. Spend a few fascinating hours by the creek, watching the dhow (traditional wooden boat) traffic and the abras weave along the waterway while smoking some sheesha.
Walk the streets of the tranquil, restored Bastakia area or take a stroll through multicultural Karama or Satwa. The Dubai Shopping Festival, a yearly event is one of the biggest attractions for shopaholics to Dubai.
Some must visit places in Dubai are the BurJuman Centre, a massive shopping mall; Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht, the Dubai Museum which displays a souk peopled by waxworks, a collection of skeletons and some examples of desert wildlife, the Heritage Village and Diving Village – an enjoyable and interactive look at Dubai’s past, Nad Al Sheba Racecourse home to the Dubai World Cup and the Wild Wadi water park. Desert and camel safari in Dubai is another must do expedition.
